Colby Richardson is a media artist and filmmaker currently based in Winnipeg MB, Canada. Colby utilizes historic video equipment and obsolete technology to create dynamic and textural visual works, video sculptures, installations, performances, and single-channel film and video. His work embraces the potential meditative qualities of somewhat abrasive and jarring experiences, and investigates themes of transformation, passage, and escape, and the relationship between technology and progress. Colby has screened and exhibited across Canada  and the United states including Microscope Gallery (Brooklyn, NY), WNDX (Winnipeg, MB), Videofag (Toronto, ON), Artist’s Television Access (San Francisco, CA), and internationally at Studio Kura (Itoshima, Japan), Flatpack Film Festival (Birmingham, UK) and at the EMAF European Media Art Festival (Osnabrück, Germany).
